Welcome! I’m glad you are here.

I’ve always been curious about the stories behind the stories. Why do people believe what they believe? How do our experiences shape our perspectives? And how often do we accept something as truth without stopping to ask a few more questions?

Beyond the Surface is a place to explore those questions and more. We’ll wander through faith, history, human behavior, everyday life, and the things happening in the world around us. Some conversations will be thoughtful and serious. Others may bring a little humor. After all, life gives us plenty of material!

My Christian faith is an important part of who I am, but you don’t have to share my beliefs to feel welcome. I believe we can learn from one another through honest questions, thoughtful reflection, and respectful conversations.

We won’t always agree, and that is perfectly fine. Different perspectives can lead to greater understanding, provided we approach one anther with kindness and respect.

My hope is that you’ll leave these conversations having learned something, found a little encouragement, questioned an assumption, or simply discovered a different way of looking at something familiar..

Because there’s always more to the story.
